The supply of raw materials also spans generations. Raimo and Soile Viitanen from Siikainen have been one of the longest-standing producers of raw materials for the restaurant. Their children, Harri Viitanen and Heli Sillanpää, continue to supply the organic pine trees that are the raw material for Karin's Havupuu extract drink. The long history is reflected in the respect for tradition, but at the same time Ravintorengas Oy has been determined to renew its operations. One example of this is the FSSC 22000 international quality certificate, which is audited annually and awarded to the company in 2020. It shows that Ravintorenga's operations meet strict international food safety standards.
Wellbeing from generation to generation
Karin Conifer extract is part of the daily routine and wellbeing tradition in many Finnish homes. Many users say they have been introduced to it by their own parents or grandparents, who have praised the product. Customer feedback has been at the heart of the company's activities all these years - initially by letter, then by phone and now increasingly via social media. ❤️
Although the drink is familiar to many primarily as a generational experience, it has also attracted interest in the scientific field. The phenolic drink's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds have been analysed by several Finnish universities and their effects are being studied in increasing detail.
Kari's Conifer Extract Drink has since grown into the Pinena® product family, which also includes Pine Bark Extract Tablets and Vitality and Resilience Capsules. During the centenary year, this link will be further strengthened with a clearer branding and a new look. In the future, the entire product family will be signed by Pinena by Nutrition Ring.
