The change in size and price of the new packaging has caused much debate. We thought we had adequately communicated the changes to the packaging reform, but clearly this is not the case and we are sorry for the confusion this has caused 💚 We would now like to clarify.

It is by no means our intention to hide the fact that the packaging size has changed from a 6 dl plastic bottle to a 5 dl carton. When we announced the new packaging, we informed you in all our messages from the start that the pack size was changing to 5 dl in the cardboard packaging. Many people have understandably asked why the packaging has been reduced: in short, the change in size is due to packaging technology. We have not deliberately set out to reduce the size of the packaging. After finding a suitable partner for the new packaging, we chose the 5 dl pack from the range of ready-made pack sizes offered by Tetra Pak, as it is the closest to our previous pack size. Creating and implementing a separate 6 dl packaging size for our packaging technology was not feasible for us due to the cost.

Although the change in pack size and price occurred at the same time, they are not consequences of each other. We have not increased the price of Karin Havupuu extract drink for years. We have avoided a price increase until the last few years, even though costs have risen considerably. At the latest now, with the packaging reform, we were forced to review the price of the product. We understand your concern about this. Each retailer prices their products themselves. However, we believe that the unit price of the drink will remain more or less the same as in the previous packaging. This will of course mean a slight increase in the price per litre. We will continue to run promotions with our retailers throughout the year, giving you the opportunity to buy our product at a lower price. I hope this has helped to clarify the situation.
